A special accommodation in the heart of the old town of Nafplio, a modern-style hotel with classical references, a place that respects the history, the environment, and the people: This was our initial dream, our vision that took shape and was named Epoch House & The Orange Shop.

Its unique location – right on the historic Syntagma Square, the first square in liberated Greece – speaks for itself, so with the valuable help of architect Kostas Makris and interior designer Oreozili Karachaliou, we gave Epoch House a modern style and a contemporary aesthetic, creating a new accommodation concept that highlights the past of the region, while looking to the present and the future.    

Our family's involvement with orange groves and our desire to create a sustainable business that can be harmoniously integrated into the traditional character of the Old Town, with respect to the environment and local community, were the inspiration behind the original and innovative idea of The Orange Shop.

A specialty Greek delicatessen in the hotel lobby that introduces local agricultural products, showcases local culinary treasures and adds a green touch to the overall sustainable character of the accommodation, which is proudly awarded with the "Green Key".

The long, glorious and turbulent history of Nafplio, and the historical periods it traversed over time – from the Mycenaean era to modern history – “baptized” Epoch House and gave it its distinctive style. 

Thus, in our hotel’s modern and abstract environment, linear illustrations and black-and-white engravings depicting landmarks, monuments and prominent local figures – the Vouleftikon (First Greek Parliament), Bourtzi, the church of Agios Georgios, the Governor Ioannis Kapodistrias, the Archeological Museum – capture the precious history of Nafplio in an artistic, subtle and distinct way. 

The excellent location, impeccable design and original concept are elements that characterize Epoch House and act as an attraction for our guests.
